Spent the weekend exploring the lake around our family's cabin. Probably one of my favorite places... Frozen Lake Transitioning from fall to winter.
This little dude turned 2! It literally feels like yesterday that my nephew was born. It has been a wonderful two years for this guy, so naturally, we celebrate. We decided to end his last few days of "1" with a party. Not just any party, a party on the farm filled with tractor piñatas, cousins, gender reveals, football, and of course, cake (a tractor cake... what did you expect?). We, as a family, are so blessed to be able to gather like this regularly to celebrate together, and I'm happy to be able to capture these moments for years to come! We kicked off presents with a GENDER REVEAL!! That's right folks... another baby blessing the Sollenberger family :) Someone is excited for their new SISTER! Now... on to the cake. Next on the list.... Piñata! Time for my favorite part of all farm events; parties at the farm have a natural progression. We get everything out of the way we need to (food, presents, etc.) then... it's a free for all. Enjoy. Oh hey, handsome ;) ^^ This is Brett, also known as "Sir," or "Mr. Brett." As you will see, he is the kid's personal jungle gym; he entertains them for hours. Scott, you are so loved. I hope you had an amazing birthday and I can't wait to see the kind of person you grow into as the years go by. Till next time....
It's finally that time of year! In this family, summer is marked by the opening of pools, dirty barefoot kids, strawberry picking, soybean planting, red watermelon faces, yard dodgeball, rocking on the porch swing, and LOTS of ice pops . It's been a long winter/spring so a family picnic was much needed to bring everyone together for some happy times. I'm so thankful for this family I get to be a part of that takes the time to spend quality time together. Let the summer of 2016 be the best one yet!
This week was Kimberton Fair week which means...cow shows! After sleeping in the barn all week with the cows I thought it would be a good idea to document this experience. There were two shows this week and everyone did an awesome job. Of course, my favorite part was running around and snapping pictures of pretty much everything else but the actual show...oops! But I couldn't help it, between all the kids playing tractors in the dust, the bond between humans and cows, and people watching their loved ones in the show anxiously waiting for the ribbon I felt like I needed to document everything else that goes along with "fair week," enjoy!
For my senior project at school I've been learning to scan negatives I take with film and turn them into digital images. I've been working with ideas of "home" and how that means so many different things for everybody. This project has allowed me to take a more personal approach to photography at school so I'm beginning to love them! These pictures are being printed close 24"x15" and will soon be featured in the student art show in April.
